Uporabnik:Quiddity (WMF)

About me
I've been a Wikimedian since 2005. See my enwiki userpage, User:Quiddity, for details about me, links that I regularly use, and most of my volunteer contributions. I prefer to use the pseudonym "Quiddity" throughout, as a single name is easier for everyone to follow, plus it's good to promote a culture of acceptance for pseudonymity (as cover for those who need it).
I live in Canada, and am interested in anything related to words, felines, connections, documentation, and design.

My work
Currently, I am: working with the Abstract Wikipedia team; publishing Tech News, and assorted backup-work and smaller/side-projects.
Background: After 8 years of volunteering, I was hired by the Foundation in September 2013. From then until now I have been working as a Community Relations Specialists, helping to ensure open lines of communication between our editing community and the developers, and surfacing issues that are important to our editors. (Essentially, that means I tried to read everything (twice), to point the staff and the communities towards documentation or discussions that need attention and input, to investigate problems, and to compile potential solutions).
I have previously worked: with the Collaboration team (on Notifications and Flow); on Hovercards; with Community Tech on the Community Wishlists; on Movement Strategy phase 1; with Hackathon organizers; with the Wikimedia Cloud Services team on documentation and comms; with the Reading Web team on the Desktop Improvements project; with the Advancement dept on documentation and comms; and on various other endeavours and side-projects.
